educational needs of your children?
A list of United Reformed
Church Schools.
1) CATERHAM SCHOOL
The essence of Caterham
School derives from three key ingredients – the quality of the teaching,
the pastoral care and a personalised tutorial system that encourages the
pupils to develop their own sense of worth and purpose and so achieve
their full potential with a sense of responsibility and discipline.
The pupils are taught with
commitment and enthusiasm. Consequently the
school has built a reputation for excellent academic results. However,
the school also offers a wide range of extra curricular activities
enabling the students to develop their skills and interests.
There is continued
investment in the future with a modern Sports Centre and all-weather
pitch, recently refurbished boarding accommodation, new assembly hall &
theatre, and state of the art IT facilities. In summer 2006 the twelve
new science labs and new refectory will be complete.
Situated on a beautiful 80
acre campus you would hardly realise that the school is just 5 minutes
from the M25, 30 minutes from Gatwick and on the edge of London.
In summary, Caterham School
is a co-educational school with Christian values that provides an
excellent all-round education so that every pupil can develop the
academic, artistic, sporting and personal strengths needed for later
life.

2) ELTHAM COLLEGE
Eltham College is a school
rich in history, variety, vitality and care; we are proud of our
Christian heritage which originated with the provision of education for
the sons of missionaries. Throughout its history, students from Eltham
College have been recognised for their scholarship and commitment to
serving others; they have gone on to give leadership and service in many
areas beyond school life.
Something that
distinguishes Eltham College from most other schools, and relates back
to the principles that led to its foundation by Christian Missionaries,
is the commitment that all our students show in the Community Service
and Charities programmes, which help others less fortunate than
themselves.

5) WALTHAMSTOW HALL
Walthamstow Hall was
founded in 1838 as an inter-denominational mission school and home for
the daughters of Christian missionaries, and retains its Christian ethos
to this day. It provides an ‘all-through’ education with a Junior School
for girls aged 3 – 11 and a Senior School for girls aged 11 – 18. The
school is situated in the heart of Sevenoaks in Kent and takes its name
from the ‘village’ – Walthamstow - where it was founded. In 1838 the
village was five miles from London. It expanded and moved to its current
site in Hollybush Lane, Sevenoaks in 1882.
As one of the top
independent schools for girls in the country, Walthamstow Hall has an
enviable reputation for academic results. From Nursery to Sixth Form,
girls thrive in a happy environment where everyone is treated as an
individual. Pupils benefit from being taught in small classes by highly
qualified and dedicated teachers.
A broad curriculum meets
the academic potential of each child, and is balanced with a wide and
varied choice of extra-curricular clubs and activities to ensure a
‘well-rounded’ education. Every girl develops at the pace which is right
for her, and in an all-girl environment there is every opportunity to
achieve. Girls at Walthamstow Hall become successful, confident
individuals ready to meet the challenges of the 21st Century.
