These
have been defined and amalgamated from various sources including: the
‘Learning for Life Core Skills’, ‘The Being, Knowing & Doing of a
Stipendiary Minister’ and ‘Core Competencies –extracts from the 1993 General
Assembly Report’ (URC Training Committee); ‘Seven Fundamental
Qualifications for Ministry’ (K2 of The URC Manual); ‘Definition of
Church-Related Community Work’ (K11 & 12 of The URC Manual); ‘The Practice
of Ministry’ (Faith in Living Course, PTEM); ‘The Competencies of CRCWs’
(CRCW Manual); the ‘National Occupational Standards in Community Development
Work’ including S/NVQ Units at Levels 2, 3 & 4 (Federation of Community Work
Training Groups); 1998 URC Mission Council Report about CRCW (Day / Cook); and the Self-defining exercise by CRCWs (CRCW Residential 2001) Letters
in brackets refer to the National Occupational Standards roles. Examples
are current at the time of writing but will need to be updated & are in
abbreviated format only. ‘Communities’ refer to communities that can be
defined geographically &/or those defined by interest ie. Churches can be
defined as ‘communities’ of faith. (Steve Summers. Nov.’02).
