It’s the final booking countdown for the United Reformed Church Big Day Out at Warwick Castle on Saturday 20 May 2017. Have you made sure of your place yet?
A highlight of the event, organised by Pilots for the whole Church, will be the festival on the Castle’s Pageant Field, taking place between 10am and 5pm. Activities, games and workshops will tell of the role which feasts, festivals and celebration play in sharing the Kingdom of God – both within the URC and beyond.
This flagship event of the denomination’s Feasts and Festivals theme for 2017 will also welcome several keynote speakers to the Pageant Field. Main topics for exploration will be 'Come Dine with the URC: Who should the URC invite to the dinner table?' and 'The World’s Got Talent: What is there to celebrate in the world today?' The speakers considering these questions will include the URC’s General Secretary John Proctor; Neil Thorogood, Principal of Westminster College; Kirsty Mabbott, Church Related Community Work minister at the CRCW project in Bettws, Wales; Paul Northup, Creative Director of the Greenbelt festival, Wayne Hawkins, Mission Secretary (Europe) for the Council for World Mission; and representatives from the Christian Aid Collective and Messy Church.

All local churches will soon receive copies of the pre-event materials, comprising information, activities, Bible exploration and a chance to learn about feasts and festivals from cultures around the globe. These have all been designed to help festival-goers prepare for the day and get the most out of it. Every group attending the event is also invited to design their own piece of bunting to be put together around the main stage. You can decorate your piece in any way you like, reflecting the theme. Please ensure that your piece is a triangle, approximately 72cm wide with a drop of 48cm and a hole in each top corner to hang it with.
Booking forms, available from the Feasts and Festivals desk on 020 7916 8637 or firstname.lastname@example.org , should be returned as soon as possible.

There is one FREE adult place for every 10 paid child places.
