Malvern dinosaur cropHolly Mount United Reformed Church in Malvern, Worcestershire, had a central role in “Malvern Evolution Weekend”, a science and faith event, held earlier this month, to celebrate the contribution of Charles Darwin to evolutionary theory. Malvern played an important part in Darwin’s life; he went there for treatment after developing a fever during his voyage on HMS Beagle, and it was the place where Anne, his 10-year-old daughter, died; she is buried in the Priory churchyard.

Guides, manuals and materials are all available, through a single website, to help churches run a whole array of events from sport-themed children’s holiday clubs, community festivals and messy church, to a holiday club for the over 65s.

For the first time, the United Reformed Church, as a denomination, has registered with Back to Church Sunday. This means that, from 12 April, any United Reformed church across the three nations can register to take part in Back to Church Sunday 2012 – taking place on Sunday 30 September.
