URC minister leads worship on 'Taste'

This week’s Sunday Worship on BBC Radio 4 will come from Augustine United Church in Edinburgh – a United Reformed Church, and a partner with the Church of Scotland and Scottish Episcopal Church through a local ecumenical partnership. It will be led by the Revd Lindsey Sanderson, a United Reformed Church minister, who is assistant general secretary of ACTS – Action of Churches Together in Scotland. The preacher will be the Revd Dr Kevin Franz, former general secretary of ACTS and now lead mental healthcare chaplain in Greater Glasgow.  The Edinburgh Choral Union will take part.

The service is on “Taste”, one of a series for Lent on the senses. It will explore the sense of taste within the context of the last meal Jesus ate with his disciples. The series is a joint initiative between the BBC and Churches Together in Britain and Ireland.

Sunday Worship is broadcast on BBC Radio 4 from 0810 until 0850. It is also be available later from the Sunday Worship page of the BBC website.

The final service in the series, on Palm Sunday, will be on the theme of “Hearing” and will come from Upper Clapton United Reformed Church in East London.
