This short book addresses the concerns and perceived fears of taking the next step in life - retirement from remunerated directed work to a time where true personal choice can be each minister’s prerogative.

Mr Eyre obviously understands this subject well and covers the whole range of retirement life from the mundane, food, drink and exercise, to the perceived loss of status and the continuing relationship with church and spirituality. The last part of this book provides an insight into retirement income and although it is specifically for Baptist ministers it does provide some good contact sources to secure general financial information and help.

In tandem with a good retirement course which will enable discussion to take place with like minded colleagues, friends and spouses, this book, although an easy read, is a valuable and well presented source of information written in a logical manner but with an underlying sensitivity that supports the natural progression through into retirement.
