I'm sure there are not many collections of letters for a Church Magazine written over a period of 30 years by the same minister. If there are any others they are unlikely to be as good as this one. There is so much of deep faith, of close awareness of the world, of the needs of people and of humour and good sense. They are a joy to read. They are never about easy answers or glib theology. The letters reflect the faith development of a deeply committed Christian minister who reflects on his faith and recognises the ways in which it changes with time and experience. This is a book that can be read from cover to cover or just dipped into. Either way it will greatly profit the reader.
